“Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.”

Teaching Artistry in the Classroom: Using Experiential Learning to Support Content
Educators, do you have a lesson or unit that your students struggle to understand or connect to? Data has shown that creating personal meaning and connection to an idea leads to a greater depth of knowledge and therefore, greater success. One way students can create personal meaning of an idea or concept is through creative movement. In this service, our teaching artist will collaborate with the educator to incorporate creative movement in a lesson or unit to allow their students to use their personal creativity to codify/express the concepts or ideas found within that lesson or unit.
Pricing: Due to the nature of the collaboration, a contract will be drawn up between the educator and teaching artist. However, please note that Sparking Creative Movement truly believes that arts in education can transform a student’s learning experience and is willing to work with educators to reach an agreement that works for both parties. If interested, please use the “Contact Us” page to introduce yourself and the objectives, lesson, or unit you would like enhanced through creative movement.
Cross-Curricular Consultant
Having trouble integrating another curriculum into your own? Do you need your students to see how math fits into science or how art fits into history? Our teaching artist, Stephanie, not only has experience as a dance educator, but she was also a science educator for 10 + years applying STEAM principles. Some of her notable pieces of work are integrating history standards into the dance class curriculum and the creation of 3D models of constellations.
Pricing: Based upon the length and type of consultation, a contract will be drawn up between the consultant and the client to reflect the needs of the consultation. However, please note that we are willing to work with the educator or school to reach an agreement that works for both parties. If interested, please use the “Contact Us” page to introduce yourself and the nature of your consultation needs.
